Lisa and I were extremely excited to see these two get married. We connect with all of our clients in different ways — from their love of adventure, to their desire to cook, their passion for movies, a need for peace, quiet, and serenity, or the simple fact that they are crazy love birds following their hearts and getting married. These two we will never forget. Seeing each other as couples both with little boys born three days apart is a rarity to find. I remember chuckling in the car as we drove away from the beach on their engagement session, and it was like we were old friends chatting about the craziness that is our lives with our first children. We all had changed lives from the past 7 months of raising a child, we were tired and joyous within the same moment. It was the most wonderful thing to hug these two goodbye seeing a reflection of everything simple, hard, and wonderful in our lives in these people that we were having the chance to tell their story.
The one thing I seek out with photography is truth. We want to know who you are, and why you were crazy enough to fall in love with another human being. Being able to see daily the way that someone else can make their true love smile, and laugh through simple ways, shows me that when we break everything down from our complicated lives, love and happiness is all we want, and all we need. Once we get a couple to stop their busy lives even if it is just for a couple hours that we all can easily fall in love again. A photograph can be that therapy we need, to look back upon and remember those simple times of smiles and laughter that we have together.
Veronica and Bart, we are so happy for you two being able to celebrate family in ways that many newlyweds do not know yet. You were a family before you were married and you now both have bigger families today. Seeing all of the color and delight at your wedding in the hills of Santa Cruz was amazing. It was the coolest thing that we were able to see Paul and Elise, who’s wedding we photographed in 2010. It was beyond special seeing little Harrison be a part of your wedding. More important though it was seeing the smiles and cries you had for each other. Your whole family worked so hard on everything at the wedding with decorated piñatas, jarritos name cards, refreshing agua fresca, a custom made arbor, and your family friends’ vineyard all made your day special. You are seriously in for a treat of color explosion before your eyes. These two did everything at their wedding and had such creative ways to bring in Veronica’s Mexican heritage. The arbor they made for the wedding…amazing! Lisa seriously freaked because of how beautiful all the color was.
We are so happy for your adorable family Veronica y Bart! Harrison is an adorable little man and you both are doing an amazing job for each other and your adorable son. From our family to yours we love you, and we wish you all the continued happiness in your marriage!
I can not tell a lie, the fact that we see our couples’ families grow is one part of what makes what we do amazing. It was the best, being able to see how far we have all come together in our lives! This is Paul and Elise, with Veronica y Bart, and of course us!
Thank you again for letting us capture your beautiful wedding day in Santa Cruz. It was such a beautiful place to have all your family and friends!
