This love story started well before either of them knew it had. One evening in Oxford, England, a young English boy met a beautiful young American girl at college where he had just finished a meeting about traveling to the US for University. It just so happens Jonty was lucky enough to have met Sabrina, a sweet girl who offered her US number just in case he came over and needed help getting situated in the states. Jonty decided to make that trip across the pond to Sac State where he remembered that sweet girl whom had given him her number back in England. It did not take long for these two to start hanging out together and fall head over heels in love. The crazy thing is that this story does not end in the US. In fact as I write this on a train looking out upon the gorgeous fields of the English countryside I am reminded of the beauty of being willing to travel as far as humanly possible to be with the one you love. I am talking about the willingness to do things many think is crazy for the one you love. Travel across a river, a mountain, a state, quit a job, move across a continent, or in this case move halfway around the world. If you are willing to make that leap and follow your heart over anything else in life it tends to lead you to happiness that is more fulfilling than the love most people dream of. It gives you that smile across your face that can never be erased, since you have the one person you love more then anything by your side. It is this type of love that had Sabrina moving halfway around the world for the man she loves.
So I should tell you this is their engagement session with us, but they are married. I know, I know, but two weeks ago today these two were married in London. In fact we are just outside that very building here where they officially tied the knot. Sabrina’s family made it out and they had an intimate affair for their families to celebrate together in London. They are having a reception in the US to celebrate as well in May. More about that later. We happened upon a few different weddings this Saturday in London. It was also one of the first sunny days of the year. All of us were amazed at the gorgeous warm weather that we had.
We really enjoyed getting to see how happy these two were standing on the same steps of the building in which they were wed.
Next we headed to their favorite place to go in the spring and summer in London, Regnts Park. This park is no small place to visit. We started overlooking “their spot” in the park. It is where they love to sit and watch people boating and enjoy time with each other and a bit of quiet from all the hustle and bustle of London.
Now this is that spot they were looking at across the pond. A cute little hill, sprinkled with daffodils. Who would not enjoy just hanging out in such a beautiful place?
I love that Sabrina made these cute little muffins. Too delicious!
I did mention that we saw a few weddings this day. The last one we saw was just the evidence of their celebration. It is so fun the things we find just walking around Regents Park. These were just on the ground hanging out near the Queen’s garden. It just made sense to grab one, since these two are newlyweds and all.
Thank you so much Jonty and Sabrina for sharing with us just a little piece of your London. Seeing the places that have so many special meanings to you two meant the world to Lisa and I. Your transatlantic love story is one to remember. We can not wait to see you two at the end of May in Sacramento!
