Anmol and Priya were recently married in a joyful celebration filled with family, friends, food, fun, and LOTS of color. Priya was born here in California and Anmol was born in India. He had made a trip into Sacramento with some friends from college and was hanging out at a club. He tried to get Priya’s number but she said no. Anmol persisted and Priya gave in, and the rest is simply history. They were married last month and we covered four days of their wedding extravaganza. It starts with their Sangeet which included some hindu ceremonies and a lot of singing and dancing, followed by the Mehndi ceremony a few days later. Check out Priya’s henna….there is a golden gate bridge and the Disney castle. It is pretty cool as it is where she lives, and where Anmol proposed to her. Next was the Sikh wedding ceremony. Anmol’s family is Hindu, but in these modern times both families embrace each other’s cultures to celebrate the love of Anmol and Priya. The last day, their reception was the final party and goodbye as these two started their journey as a married couple. There were a lot of tears, a lot of color, maybe a horse, and a whole lot of fun. Thank you Anmol and Priya for allowing us to capture your beautiful wedding!
After the families met it was time for a short breakfast before the ceremony. This was perfect as everyone was getting ready by at least 6am for this beautiful ceremony that was about to take place!
The last ceremony of the day is where Anmol and his family picks up Priya to take her back to their house. It is the last ceremony of the day and is filled with more symbolism and emotion for me to describe to you in a few words. It still brings me to tears seeing these images and knowing that one chapter was ending and another starting, and this ceremony was to define the pages turning.
The last and final day was their reception! We met up a couple miles from their venue for a couple photos real quick. I am not going to lie that each day I was thrilled to see their different wedding attire! Also…Anmol and no beard again…he looked great and it was a fun surprise as he grew it out for the ceremony.
Even Lisa and I got dressed up for the reception too, and a guest really wanted a photo with us.
