Jason and Allison were married this December at The Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, Ca. It was a beautiful day. The week before it snowed all over the Sierras and left these two a little nervous. We all knew that there was a chance for bad weather in December but nothing prepared us for how amazing the weather was going to be. Sure we all bundled up, but there was snow on the ground and blue skies everywhere. It was the perfect day for these two and we could not have been happier to capture them. In fact, right now the just got back from a week in Mexico and are preparing for a week of fun and snowboarding together. How appropriate for a couple who loves being together in the snow!
Emily and Andrew are two Californians currently living together in Sydney. That is right, Sydney Australia. It was so great meeting with them over Skype while they were on their lunch break enjoying the sun, in the park with birds flying around them, half a world away. These two took a big step a couple years ago and decide to pack up, take a risk, and move their life to another hemisphere. Two and a half years later they are as happy as could be, but enjoying every chance they have to come home and see family and friends. We were lucky enough that Emily’s brother was getting married right after Thanksgiving and we were able to meet these two in person. They took us to one of their favorite running spots in San Francisco, The Presidio. The trail their is filled with magnificent trees, and views of so many different angles of the city. The same city where they used to live together before their big move. After hanging out in the rolling hills of the Presidio we headed down to Crissy Field. The fun thing about that is their old house used to be a small walk from the marina. Our sunset stroll along the bay was a perfect end to an evening of them reminiscing and falling in love with the city they once called home. We could not be more excited to see these two again next September for their wedding! Thank you so much for letting us capture your story.
Kelly and Brad are married! They had a perfect fall wedding at the Loomis Flower Farm Inn. When we first met these two they were worried about rain on their wedding day but couldn’t be more excited to get married. This time last year we experienced 60mph gail force winds on the same weekend as their wedding. This year however was a completely different story. They were blessed with one of the warmest weekends in November. Sunny skies, and smiles from every guest at their outdoor ceremony. I think we were all smiling though because somehow the family of chickens at The Flower Farm knew just the right moments to chime in during their vows. It was a memorable moment for everyone! Kelly handmade all of the decorations at the wedding. She designed the centerpieces, the flowers, the table seating chart and the table numbers. Brad and Kelly made the boutonnieres together and they also made the cake topper all out of origami. Brad happens to have some amazing skills and patience when it comes to origami. I love that Kelly has always kept the origami flowers Brad made for her on their first date. Kelly always makes Brad smile a huge cheek to cheek grin, you can see how adorably in love these two are in their portraits below. They are to die for cute! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to capture your wedding story Kelly and Brad! We wish you the best!
Nick and Hanna are a fun and adventurous pair. You would never know that adventure sometimes starts right across the street from where they live. A walk across the street is all it takes to be instantly climbing to the top of Mount Sutro. It’s just one of the many reasons they choose this as their adorable first house together in San Francisco. We could not be more thankful to be allowed in to see into a little piece of their daily lives. The view from the house was absolutely beautiful. We were able to see Nick preparing snacks and making sure everything was perfect while Hanna finished getting ready for us to take a few photos. I loved the artwork on every wall in the house. They were all painted by Nick’s dad. After a few photos in their house, we walked around their neighborhood and were taken on a beautiful hike up the Mountain. Lisa took one of my favorite photographs of these two looking off at their beautiful city. Since these two are living in the city then even had a Vespa in the garage and an ocean only a couple miles away. It was a perfect evening to see so many of the different sides of Nick and Hanna. Since the ocean was just down the street we ended there with a sunset that was glowing with pinks and purples. It was a sweet and calming end to an extremely enjoyable afternoon!
Lisa and I are really happy for these two love birds. They have both traveled back and for across the US chasing after each other and their dreams. They never let an entire country be too far of a distance to keep a beautiful relationship alive. They thrived on the time they had together and did what it took to make sure the time between the next time they saw each other was faster than the time before. Jenny is really special to us and even more so to Lisa. They met each other in sorority at Sac State. Stephen and Jenny met there as well, in the dorms of all places. Lisa and I went to visit Jenny on our little honeymoon after we were married in Disneyland. It was seriously the most fun seeing someone you know running Autopia. It is even more amazing when they are a bubbly and beautiful friend who wanted nothing more but to get to show us a little piece of her Disneyland. Jenny and Stephen are beyond happy with their lives, now living in Texas as a super sweet and adorable married couple! I know Jenny brings a smile to Stephen’s face every single day! We could not be happier for the love you two share.
Nick and Stacy love a good adventure together. In fact, that is one of the most important things these two do—enjoy time and have an adventure or two with each other. Now, every adventure doesn’t mean running out of town every moment they can. It can even mean hanging out at home with their new big puppy and having a glass of wine, to a fun evening out to dinner. These two really thought long and hard about a special location for their engagement session and they came up with a place we love. Their home. Their first home together. Photographing in a couple’s home is such a special place because it is where this where a family lives, it is where so much of a couple’s relationship flourishes. Where you sleep, read, hangout with friends and loved ones, and just be together. Home is where Nick and Stacy will live when they get married next year, it is where they already have so many fun memories together. We love it because these photos will always remind them of the memories together in this house. When Stacy told us she was inviting us into their home to capture their engagement photos Lisa and I could not have been more excited. Here are a few of ours favorites!
