Dane and Erin are married! (teaser)

Never have we been to a wedding with SO much meaning in every little detail. From the first look in Dane and Erin’s backyard to the celebration of both their parents’ 34th anniversaries on the SAME EXACT DAY (talk about a coincidence!) which just so happened to be two days after Dane and Erin’s own wedding, and one of those sets of parents even being married at the SAME venue as the happy couple, The Firehouse Restaurant, plus so much more. Everything was absolutely delightful and we cannot WAIT to share more!

We got to recreate one of their engagement photos on the wedding day! Even the flamingos got dressed up!

New favorite bridesmaids photo? I think so!

More to come!

Scott and Naomi are married! (teaser)

Oh my goodness, it is so hard not to want to post this entire wedding RIGHT NOW. Scott and Naomi married at the home of the bride, a gorgeous Native American inspired property in Nevada City. It was an absolutely beautiful setting with lots of great friends, family, fun and teepees!!! I’m not going to lie, we became mildly obsessed with the teepees. So much more to share–we can’t wait! Stay tuned!

Evan and Lynn’s St. Helena garden engagement session

Down-to-earth has more than one meaning for describing Lynn and Evan. Not only are they sweet, kind, and modest, but they also have a passion for things that grow from the ground. In college, Evan studied environmental science and Biology and they now grow a lot of their own fruits and vegetable themselves in a community farm in Davis, CA where they currently live. They are even getting married at a culinary school in Sonoma! They chose the beautiful town of St. Helena for their engagement session and the first place we went was, quite fittingly, the Culinary Institute of America.

Right outside the building is a beautiful garden where we’d watch the culinary students pop out, snip a few herbs, then head back into class. We knew it would be a perfect spot for some photos of Lynn and Evan.

The next place we went was Duckhorn Vineyards, just a little bit up the road. This was one of Lynn and Evan’s favorite wineries to visit, where they like to spend time with friends that work there.

Everywhere we walked Evan would point out the names of the different plants. Eventually we started quizzing him for fun. “What’s this one, Evan?” 🙂

Thanks for showing us an awesome time in St. Helena, Evan and Lynn! We can’t wait for your foodie wedding later this year!

Daniel and Madhavi’s Embarcadero engagement session

We just LOVE Daniel and Madhavi! We had so much fun with them at their San Francisco Engagement Session and we can’t wait for their wedding extravaganza later this year! We started things off by meeting at a favorite restaurant on the Embarcadero. Daniel’s law firm is across the street from the Ferry Building Marketplace and Madhavi frequently meets him for lunch and they take strolls together along the waterfront. So it was the perfect spot for photos!

This awesome fountain-sculpture is in front of the building that Daniel works in. He did have one request — no pictures of the actual building necessary — he spends way too much time there! That is something we workaholics can relate to!

We drove over to Daniels and Madhavi’s apartment for a quick wardrobe change. Then we walked through their neighborhood to the nearby Dolores Park, which is always fun and full of interesting people.

It does have an awesome view of the city…

What a great time we had with these two! Their wedding this September is going to be so incredible…we just know it!

Austin and Megan are married! (teaser)

There were so many wonderful things about this day. Austin and Megan (and all of their friends and family) were so kind, sweet and down-to-earth. The antics of the bridal party kept us in stitches. The toasts had us choking back tears. There was a packed dance floor, drinks flowing, and lots of fun in the Shot Spot! We are SO looking forward to sharing more from this amazing day!

Bryon and Tracy’s Stockton engagement session

Bryon and Tracy met at UOP while in their undergrad and currently live in Stockton while they finish up school, and plan their wedding! They are both students of behavioral science, so I hope they didn’t read into our weirdness too much at their engagement session! Bryon and Tracy picked out a few of their favorite spots in Stockton for us to take photos. We started off at the ever-beautiful Oak Grove Park.

I can definitely relate to that tip-toe kiss! Tracy and I like our guys tall!

Next, we went over to the waterfront in downtown Stockton, which had lots of old industrial-type buildings.

Love the giddiness!

Bryon brought along his guitar for a few photos. He said he hasn’t played for many people, but Tracy is definitely one of select few!

We wrapped up an awesome evening with a beautiful golden sunset at the railroad tracks.

Bryon and Tracy, thanks for an awesome time! We can’t wait for your wedding coming up VERY soon!!

Nathan and Katie’s winter Firehouse wedding

Today we are pleased to share what was our very first wedding of 2012! We actually photographed this wedding a few days before we left on our Southeast Asia adventure, but I’m so glad it all worked out and we were able to be a part of it because Nathan and Katie are such a sweet couple with a ton of love for each other. The wedding was simple and sweet, very fitting for this down to earth couple. The ceremony was at the Eastern Orthodox Church and was such a cool experience for us. All of the speaking was through song , in addition to the actual amazing singers. We loved all the tradition and ritual.

After the ceremony, we went to the beautiful State Capitol for some portraits of the happy newlyweds.

After a quick photo session at the Capitol, we met back up with the bridal party in Old Sacramento.

The winter sunset was so lovely.

They held a reception for friends and family at The Firehouse. Nathan’s dad came in from out of town to bake their wedding cake in Nathan’s tiny apartment. Such a sweet contribution to the celebration!

Nathan lookin’ good getting a drink!

Congratulations Nathan and Katie! We loved getting to celebrate with you and capture your intimate wedding day. We wish you many years of happiness together!

It was our first time shooting there and oh, my, goodness! What a gorgeous place! The wedding was a BEAUTIFUL event filled with so many adorable details and plenty of fun people. So much goodness to share! I love Lisa’s face as she was about to see Nolan for the first time:

One good looking couple!!

Kyle and Erin are married! (teaser)

We have a lot of great teasers to share, including Erin and Kyle’s rainy-day wedding. Well, at least, it didn’t start out that way. As we were finishing up with portraits, a few sprinkles started to come down and by the time the ceremony was happening it was a downpour! The ceremony was a mass of guests huddled under umbrellas. But don’t you think for a minute that got Erin and Kyle down. Nope, they LOVED it! It was so memorable and full of laughs.

So much joy. 🙂

Lucky for us the rain DID stop and we got to go outside for a few more photos.

Also, this:

Such an awesome couple! We can’t wait to share all the fun design we did for them too!
