Ian and Emma are married! (teaser)

One of my favorite moments from Ian and Emma’s wedding day was when Emma’s dad revealed during his speech that it was Emma’s dream to get married in the mountains in sight of snow. It made the ceremony, which had been up at Forest House Lodge’s gorgeous outdoor location overlooking the Sierras with patches of sparkling white snow on the ground, all the more meaningful. We couldn’t be happier for these two. We can’t wait to share more of their story and more wedding photos soon!

Southeast Asia: the video

While I LOVE photography, there is just nothing like having a video to remember your favorites moments in life. I had so much fun making aВ video of our road trip last summer, that I knew I wanted to make one about our travels in Southeast Asia. This video will give you a little taste of our adventure!

And if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check our photography post about ourВ favorite things in Southeast Asia.

Nolan and Lisa’s Folsom engagement session

When we met Lisa a while back, we knew she was the kind of person we wanted to know: funny, sweet, excited, and almost more of a Pinterest fiend than me! (Of course, with a name like hers, how could she NOT be awesome!?) We didn’t get to meet Nolan until the day of our session, but he was worth the wait! It’s easy to see how great these two are together and photographing them was so much fun! For their engagement session Nolan and Lisa wanted to go to some of their favorite spots in Folsom, where they live. We started off near the river for some pretty nature shots!

Next, our couple had a wardrobe change and we headed into Old Folsom. Always a fun place to shoot!

Finally, we headed back to Nolan and Lisa’s place for a “family photo” with their five (that’s right, FIVE) dogs! They were all so cute together. Fun fact: Lisa and Nolan and Geoff and I both have a dog named, “Little Dog”.

Thanks, Nolan and Lisa! We had so much fun with you two (I mean SEVEN!) We are so excited for your wedding in May!

Chris and Sarah’s movie theatre engagement session

I have such a treat to share today! Chris and Sarah love to go to the movies, so when Sarah suggested going to a local movie theatre to do their engagement session, we were SO on board! Sarah contacted the nice folks at United Artists, who we happy to oblige our request. Perhaps they are hopeless romantics at heart too! We got an entire theatre room to ourselves and we had so much fun photographing them cuddling in the seats and hurling popcorn at each other. We made a HUGE mess but I promise we cleaned it up!

MY FAVORITE SHOT OF THE DAY!!!

Darn straight it’s the real (ahem, reel) thing!

Our next stop was to a park in the area that has some special background for Sarah’s family. Sarah’s dad helped build this awesome playground, and then help build it again after it burned down several years ago. Its an amazing playground that I even used to go to as kid!

These are Sarah’s tiles she painted when she was a little girl!

Guess who else joined us? Chris and Sarah’s dog, Sadie! What a cute little girlie!

Aren’t these two adorable? I love their cartoon t-shirts! All four of us share a love for all things Disney and nostalgic. 🙂

Playground equipment is always fun for photo shoots! Of course it always helps when you have a super fun and playful couple. We loved getting to know Chris and Sarah!

Chris and Sarah brought this cute sign from home which made for a perfect ending shot.
