A couple of teasers then out of the office!

Two amazing engagement sessions back to back! First, we met up with Michael and Karlianna in Placerville, at Boeger Winery then this amazing dilapidated old building pictured below. Such cool spots, both of them. Michael and Karlianna did a great job making some loving images.

The next day we went to The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg with Chad, Yvonne, and their black lab, Onyx. They are such a cute little trio and Old Sugar Mill is just magical…

Geoff had been having fun shooting on our old Polaroid cameras. This image below as taken on a ’70s-era Polaroid 440 Land camera. It was awesome to have a real physical photograph develop before our eyes.

Special announcement! Geoff and I are headed on a mini-vacation this weekend and we will be off the grid! A few days without internet will be MUCH enjoyed! We will respond to all phone calls and emails on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Michael and Bryn’s Inspiration Point engagement session

Michael and Bryn are absolutely lovely people! Bryn, the sweet American girl, met Michael, the cute British boy, while they were going to school in England. Needless to say they fell in love and when school ended, Bryn stayed. They are now living in the UK planning their wedding in California for this May. We are so excited to be their photographers! Michael and Bryn came back to Cali for their engagement session with us. We went to Inspiration point located in gorgeous Tilden Park in Berkeley, one of Bryn’s favorite hiking spots. Let me tell you, we could not have asked for a more beautiful day! It was a little brisk, but those fluffy clouds that filled the blue sky was all we could have hoped for. Michael and Bryn made some beautiful photos!

Love this image. So. Much.

We may have had to hike up a tall, steep hill to reach the top of this grassy overlook, but it was SO worth it.

Who says power lines are ugly?

We finished off the session with a bit of fun! My new favorite jumping photo. 🙂

Bryn and Michael, thanks for being so awesome! We can’t wait for the wedding!

It’s a beautiful thing… (teasers!)

Some days may be crazy, full of stress and work with no end in sight. (I tell ya, being a wedding photographer is much less glamorous than you might think.) But then there are the days we actually get to spend with couples being in love and showing each other love. Smiling, laughing, having fun together, and knowing they’ll never be without one another. And we’re there too, making those little moments live forever. Moments looking into each other’s eyes, eyes that get all squinty because he’s making her laugh so hard, the warm embraces, the quiet stares that say so much without a word. As photographers, Geoff and I feel so lucky to be a witness to love. I know it all sounds so clichГ©, but we truly believe that love is a beautiful thing. It’s why we do what we do.

I’m eager to share these two engagement sessions from last weekend. These two photos make me smile so. We took Aaron and Ashley to a beautiful blossoming orchard in Dixon. It was magical, let me tell you.

Then there was Jeremy, who is a crack-up, paired with Rachel, who is sweet as can be, at William Land Park on a gorgeous afternoon.

Last summer, we photographed Diane and Matthew’s wedding at Fairytale Town which is inside Land Park. It was not too long before we went from being Lisa Welge Photography to who we are now, The Goodness. We bought a little piece of history in Fairytale Town’s Yellow Brick Road to mark the start of something big. It has been such an amazing ride. We got to see our brick for the first time the day of Rachel and Jeremy’s session. It’s a pretty cool feeling having our brick there, knowing we’ll be able to take our future kids to see it! Just like the wonderful couples we get to work with, we are so excited for all that life has in store for us.

Josh and Nichole are Married! (teaser)

How much do we love Josh and Nichole! These two are so sweet and so much fun! Their wedding was last weekend at Catta Verdera Country Club. Even though the ceremony featured a little rain, that did not stop Josh and Nichole from having a memorable, heartfelt and emotional wedding. Josh and Nichole were both so relaxed and happy, plus they looked amazing, they sure did make our job easy!
