Chris and Shannon’s Massachusetts museum wedding

I’m so excited to share one of my favorite weddings of 2010. This wedding actually happened to be on what was probably the most popular day to get married last year, 10-10-10. And here at The Goodness we like to make that count. So we packed up our bags and headed out to Massachusetts for Chris and Shannon’s wedding at the Fruitlands Museum just outside of Boston. This was just one of the many reasons why Geoff and I love what we get to do. Talk about amazing!

Look at the cute room the girls got ready in.

This dress was incredible. Why, hello gold lace, you are so lovely.

Shannon made the flowers herself! Aren’t they gorgeous?

Shannon and her mom were so cute.

Talk about a beautiful bride! Shannon looked so fabulous. I was kind of in love with her gold birdcage veil.

Yay for being silly!

Chris and his guys got ready at a nearby hotel then headed over to The Fruitlands Museum. Chris was so happy to get to see all of his friends from back home in NY who flew out to be there.

Let me tell you about this first look. Oh. My. Gosh! So beautiful. You can send me to New England in the fall ANY DAY. And what better way to say hi to your honey on your wedding day than with a little goose!

Seriously! The colors were amazing.

So on the drive up to the museum, we noticed a u-pick apple orchard and we were dying to take Chris and Shannon there. As we were walking away from our first look location, Shannon happens to mention an apple orchard up the road she’d love to go to! I was soooo excited! We only had about seven minutes at the orchard before we had to dash back but it was WORTH IT!

The ceremony was situated on an area of grass with trees and fall colors as far as the eye could see. Sigh…

Then it was off to the reception also at the museum. I was swooning hard for the details that Shannon designed and created herself! She had an acorn theme going throughout the wedding (love those table numbers) and all of the bottles were vintage and thrifted locally in Massechussets.

The little acorn monogram is a sneak peak at the wedding invitation design I did for Chris and Shannon. Shannon’s mom also used that cute little letterhead to make up itineraries and welcome packets for all of the out of town guests.В Click here to take a look at the full invitation suite!

Oh my goodness, the band Chris and Shannon found, Rockspring was nothing short of AMAZING! It would NOT be a bad thing if every wedding had a live bluegrass band. Seriously SO much fun.

Wow, did Shannon and her dad really rock the dance floor!

To “top” the night off, Chris and Shannon opted for an ice cream sundae bar instead of cake. And for the happy couple, a GIANT ice cream sundae!

It has been so hard to put into words how incredible this wedding truly was, but I tried my best. Hopefully the photos can speak for themselves because this day was unforgettable. Chris and Shannon, we cannot thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to be your wedding photographers. We know you are meant for each other and will have the happiest marriage. Congratulations from The Goodness!

Chris and Shannon’s Autumn & Acorn invitation design

When Shannon approached my about designing her wedding invitations for their fall-time Massachusetts wedding on 10-10-10, I was so excited! You must check out their wedding photos, everything was so beautiful! Shannon and Chris wanted to incorporated that autumn feeling into their wedding by basing the design around an acorn – a symbol of good luck! The wedding venue was The Fruitlands Museum which celebrates the native people of Massachusetts. When I sat down to design them, sort of a folk-art feel began to emerge in the design and it worked perfectly!

Here is the invitation front and back.

Close up of the invitation front.

Here you can really see the acorn-infused folk art pattern I designed to use throughout the invitation suite. I isolated one of the acorn groupings for them to use as sort of a monogram.

Chris and Shannon decided to go with the wraparound address labels which are super-easy to print at home and look great.

The ever popular RSVP postcard — saves on stamps and envelopes!

Finally, the full suite: Invitation, envelopes with wraparound address labels, RSVP postcard, and information card. All pieces were printed on an extra heavy linen card stock that went perfectly with the design. Love it!

Marc and Jen are engaged! (teaser)

Marc and Jen met working for Dimple Records and are, simply put, undeniably cool and ever so in love. We met Marc and Jen at our favorite downtown spot for grungy alleyways and urban backgrounds. To our delight and surprise we ran across some really fun new stuff and a ton of great color! (And boy, do we love color). They did an amazing job being the cute, sweet couple they are. SO excited to share more!

John and Katie: married on New Year’s Eve! (teaser)

Wow, wow, wow. John ad Katie’s New Year’s Eve wedding at the Citizen Hotel was SO much fun! What an amazing party and celebration for one equally amazing couple. For their teaser I wanted to share a couple of our favorite photos of the night. The first is my now favorite bridal party photo ever. SO much hotness going on here! John and Katie’s friends were perfect models.

I LOVE fireworks, and I love that we were able to run up to the 14th floor balcony just after midnight the capture the light show going on downtown.

I’m so excited to share this wedding with you all! Stay tuned!

Josh and Kelly’s rockin’ mansion wedding

Welcome to 2011 everybody! We are eager to make plenty more photo-magic with all of our amazing 2011 couples. But first, I still have some lovely 2010 weddings and engagement sessions to share. First up, Josh and Kelly! Josh and Kelly are soooo wonderfully easygoing, I absolutely adore them. The wedding was such a blast, it was easy to see that everyone had an amazing time! The ceremony and reception held at the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, CA, which is a pretty divine place. Lots of places to take photos!

Kelly really is just about the cutest girl you will ever meet.

The guys were having a pre-tty good time too!

Josh and Kelly’s first look was one of my favorites!

I love how their emotions mimicked one another…they truly are meant to be!

FAVORITE photo!

You have no idea how happy I was to discover a pear orchard behind the mansion! I LOVE orchards!

One big bridal party photo, then off to the ceremony!

Such a sweet moment between Kelly and her Dad during the family formals.

This was so me when I was a kid.

Josh’s boss gifted them plane tickets to Ireland. This was a moment definitely worthy of an animated gif.

Josh’s band took the stage and played a couple songs. They really brought the party to life!

My favorite garter retrieving photo.

Josh and his groomsmen broke out into choreographed dance! Love it!

Even Kelly jumped in for a bit!

We called it a night after taking the newlyweds out the the front of the mansion for an awesome goodbye shot.

Josh and Kelly, we cannot thank you enough for choosing us to be part of your wedding. There was so much awesome happening, you two know how to throw a party! You are the perfect couple and I know you will have an amazing life together!
